from any location in the world for better and quicker evaluation
and control of the quality of data.
The
entire system include:
-
Uniquely
designed Ground Equipment.

LINK
:
A
LINK is a combined unit of FDU's(Field Digitizing Units)
and cables that can be handled as one very lightweight
unit.
LAUL-LAUX
: The
LAUL and LAUX also ensure the following functions.
-
Consolidation
of the FDUs data for transmission to the recording system.
-
Buffering of local data.
-
Processing
of instrument tests
DSU
: The
DSU(Digital Sensor Unit) uses the most advanced technology,
based on a very low noise micro-machined silicon accelerometer.
LASER
LINK : The
laser link is a wireless bridge relying on infrared laser
transceivers therefore not requiring any frequency licensing.
It can be used to relay the data from a line or a transverse,
over a distance of up to 1,000m in clear conditions.
LRU
: Using
wireless Line Repeater Units(LRU),portions of the cable
network can be replace by radio transmission. The Line
cable, or the transverse cable, may be interrupted at
any point and connected to another line or transverse
cable using a pair of LRUs.
REM
:
In
order to increase the distance over which radio operates
effectively, new modules called Remote Eagle Modules have
been developed.
CMXL
: Using
the calculation power of the UNIX SUN Blade Workstations,
the CMXL is based on completely new architecture allowing
the acquisition of up to 10,000 channels per module in real-time.
The CMXL is made of a set of LCI/LMP pairs of boards, to
connect the field spread to the Central Unit and the Processing
Module(PRM).

A
new system brings to the World of Marine seismic acquisition
two major break-through advanced flexible architecture for
an optimal productivity & small diameter fluid. This advanced
flexible architecture fulfills the requirements like on-board,
the Central Unit of this System can be interfaced with any
of the external systems used in the instrument room and the
auxiliary channels acquisition unit can be easily placed in
the most convenient location. The solid cable design offers
increased noise attenuation over fluid filled sections during
periods of marginal weather conditions, thereby extending
the data collection windows.
This new system is equipped with different
modules such as Control Module, Graphic User Interface, Navigation
System Unit, Power Unit, Deck Cable Crossing Unit, Auxiliary
Channels Unit, and Source Controller.
Control Module manages the flow of acquired data between the
streamers and the various recording and peripherals equipment
(Tape drives, plotters, positioning, navigation, QC) via SCSI
and Ethernet links. GUI helps us to control us to troubleshoot
the system, Navigation System Unit controls all navigation
module, Deck Cable Crossing Unit assures the connection between
each streamer and the control module. Whereas source controller
is an external unit used for controlling the airguns.

Seismometers
are the instruments used for measuring the natural ground
motion of the earth due to the frictional force. The exploration
seismologist detects ground vibrations with this device, which
is also called geophone. These detectors are electromechanical
transducers that convert a mechanical input into an electrical
output.
The
main features of high performance geophones are Ultra-low
Distortion, High Reliability, Higher Sensitivity & No Shunt
Resistor. The low distortion geophones have been developed
by unitizing a scientific breakthrough in Rare Earth Magnet
Technology. This technology coupled with other unique features,
results in the most advanced geophone in the Seismic Industry.
Today's
high technology recording systems are capable of precision
measurement of distortion, sensitivity, damping, natural frequency,
phase characteristics and other operational specifications
of the entire geophone spread.

Hydrophones
are instruments, used in Marine Data Acquisition. The main
features of hydrophones are high output, natural frequency
10Hz, and easy polarity check
The
different types of Hydrophones have different design, diameter,
length, operating temperature and depth range.
|
5. Cables
|
|
There
are different types of cables for example, Line Cables, Transverses,
Extensions, and Bay-Cables, which are used in seismic acquisition
field units. These cables are equipped with the appropriate
connectors and adapters perfectly designed and tested to withstand
the most stringent field conditions.
The
high-grade cables allow for a very large coverage of applications
under different conditions, ranging from very cold to very
hot temperatures and from dry to wet or sea environment. Resistances,
portability, reliability, are the features of modern cables.
|
6.Vibrators
|
|
|
|
The
most common method of reflection surveying on land utilizing
a non-explosive source is the vibroseis method.This uses tractor-mounted
vibrators to pass into the ground an extended vibration of
low amplitude and continuously varying frequency, known as
sweep signal.
A
typical sweep signal lasts for seven or more seconds and varies
in frequency between limits of about 10 and 80 Hz. The field
recordings consist of overlapping reflected wave trains of
very low amplitude corrected for seismic noise, but cross
correlation of the recording with the known sweep signal enhances
the seismic signals and yield a seismic recording of similar
appearance to that which would be obtained with an explosive
source.
|
7.Real - Time Quality control software
|
|
eSQC-PRO
is an optional software package for real-time QC of seismic
data which is fully integrated to the 408UL. In order to maintain
the Zero-Dead-Time architecture of the 408UL CMXL, all QC
functions are performed in parallel with the seismic data
acquisition processes, without slowing down crew operations.
Furthermore,
eSQC-PRO gives the ability for any authorized person to remotely
access in real-time to the seismic data from a standard PC
platform connected to the internet.

8.Drills and Bore hole Seismic Tools
|
|
With
the increasing emphasis on the optimisation of recovery from
any hydrocarbon development, there is increasing pressure
on the geophysicist to find improved and appropriate tools
to enable the best utilisation of a reservoir. The VSP provides
an accurate tool for mapping small-scale variations in the
geophysical and geological environment through which the well
has been drilled.
The different types of tools are PiepSeis, Dual Analogue ASR,
SST-500, MSR-600 Digital Geophone Array, Dual Analogue SSR
etc. PiepSeis is one of the most important tools used at present
in high deviated wells.

|
9.Seismic
Data Processing Software
|
|
| New
challenges are continually confronting seismic processors. The
benefits to be gained from increasing integration of workflows
and the improving ability to extract more quantitative information
from seismic have been advanced by the devlopment of the Vista
family within Geocluster,CGG's processing software suite.
|
10.Seismic
Data Management Software
|
|
This
software incorporates query, picking, loading and administration
interface for most Exploration and Petroleum related data
items including wells, seismic, cartography, cores, well tests,
drilling parameters, exploration document and projects.
The
entire range of data items are organised in the POSC epicenter
data model, which includes geopositioning, processed seismic
data, field seismic data, wells etc.
This
software is made up of a number of modules, which includes
map based positional query interface, seismic interface, well
interface, document interface, project interface and management
with different utilities.

12.Archival
& Retrieval System
|
|
The
reflector image is built by constructive interference. Data
can also be migrated from a floating datum plane. In such
a case, the difference in elevation between the source and
receiver is taken into account when migrating the data.
For better turn-around, this software can run on several processors
at the same time. Because of its parallel implementation,
the module makes use of user-defined work directories.

14.Rotary
Jet Mixer
|
|
Rotary
Jet Mixer for Controlling Sludge and Blending in Crude Oil
Storage tanks. This is used to prevent sludge accumulations.
When installed permanently, it can control sludge efficiently,
while operating intermittently. It directs single or opposed
jets of crude oil horizontally across the tank, slowly rotating
at a programmed rate. This sweeping action across the tank
bottom cuts, resuspends, and homogenizes the valuable hydrocarbons
that normally would become trapped in the sludge.
